As far as I’m concerned it gets no better than Halloween. It’s a time we can all pretend to be someone who we are not. Perhaps even someone we aspire to be. I’m dressing up as a lonely and mostly ignorant French peasant who gets killed during the French Revolution.

According to my people, what baseball team was the first to ever wear baseball uniforms. Please email your answer to me at Trapper@moosejaw.com and know that this is probably the most difficult question ever asked anywhere in the world.

Today is a super important guest daily remark day. This is from Dan. This past August, Dan was nominated by his city council to carry nine fish through the streets of his town on Halloween. Where Dan is from this is like getting a Rhodes Scholarship or winning the Heisman. To say that we’re excited for Dan is a giant understatement. Here we go…

PS... I think the following would make a decent guest daily remark, mainly because it's 99% true.

I saw a woman this morning wearing the same Camelbak Rim Runner Back Pack that I bought from Moosejaw in the summer of 2006. I was going to say hi to her, but then I noticed that she wears the straps differently than me. She buckled the waist belt and not the sternum strap where as I buckle the sternum strap and not the waist belt. I suppose it was not meant to be, plus I'm married.

Peace,
Dan!

Two emergencies…

• The Girl beat me in tennis for the second time over the weekend.

• An Old School Daily Remark person (Laurie from Chicago) emailed that this was her favorite remark ever. It’s from June 26, 2004 and I’m not making any of this up…
I am still out of town. My favorite words are façade and onslaught. Who cares? I was at a funeral last week and the girl was the prettiest one there. Please don’t tell anyone about it.

For the past several days someone has been emailing me claiming he was from Consumer Reports and that he wanted me to write a column for the magazine. Turns out the entire thing was a lie. A prank, if you will. He even had a made up email address that looked like it was from Consumers Reports. It will certainly be up for consideration for Trickiest Something of the Year which is especially exciting considering Halloween is only a few days away.

It’s Moosejaw’s 16 Year Anniversary in a couple weeks. We made 16 Year Anniversary tees which are way better than any fifteen year anniversary tee out there.

Well, it’s one louder isn’t it. – Nigel Tufnel

Click here to check ‘em out.

We’ll do double Moosejaw Rewards Points if you want a tee. That means you’ll get 20% back to use at MoosejawRewards.com. MoosejawRewards is down right now but it’ll be up in a couple weeks and I think we’ve only done double rewards once before. That’s actually not true…we’ve for sure done double rewards before but still.

Just enter code 888 when you’re ordering and the Double Rewards will be done. You also get Free Shipping.

I can’t think of anything else to say and I hope you feel mildly exploited.

This is almost a completely true play about me at a flower shop yesterday morning.

Fade into me at the counter buying flowers for The Girl so she doesn’t hate me. I’m being rung up and there are flowers and leaves all over the floor behind the counter.
Me: Do you clean up that mess all over the floor throughout the day or do you wait for the end of the day and do it all at once?
Super Mean Flower Man: Why do you care?
Me: Just curious. I used to work at a hat shop.
Mean Flower Man: Still, why do you care?
Me: How about I go to a different flower shop even though there probably aren’t any open?

Fade out as I walk out of the shop with no flowers thinking I should have said something better..especially that thing about the hat shop which happens to not be true and I have no idea why I said it.

This ain't pool. This is for bangers. Straight pool is pool. This is like hand-ball, or cribbage, or something. Straight pool, you gotta be a real surgeon to get 'em, you know? It's all finesse. Now, everything is nine-ball, 'cause it's fast, good for T.V., good for a lot of break shots... Oh, well. What the hell. Checkers sells more than chess.

This is a guest Daily Remark from Bennet in Madison...

I was at a red light yesterday and the person in the lane next to me gave me that motion to roll down my window so I did and he said “Hey. Do you recognize me?” And, I said, “Give me a hint.” And, he said “I’m the pizza delivery guy.” And, he was and I said something like “Oh yeah. How are you doing?” And, he said, “Not so great. My grandpa broke both of his legs so I’m on my way to the hospital to see him.” Then the light turned green and he drove away.

I saw Religilous last night and I’m definitely recommending it if you have nothing else to do. It’s no Can’t Buy Me Love but still.

Two people didn’t like me when I went to the movies.

First, I called a dinner place before the movie to pick up food after the movie and asked if the food could be ready at 8:45. They said they couldn’t take carry out orders more than an hour in advance and could not make any exceptions which I didn’t get at all. Then, I asked the lady at the concession place if they had lemonade or Hawaiian Punch and she said they had both. I explained to her that I was going to go with the Hawaiian Punch because I thought it would be less likely to get messed up. She hated me.

I was followed and almost killed last night on the way to play cards at a friend’s house. Here’s the short version of the story…

• I cut someone off a little bit when I was driving. It was an accident.
• The person I cut off went crazy and kept following me.
• At first I didn’t want to drive to my friend’s house because I didn’t want the lunatic behind me to know where my friend lived but I called my friend and he encouraged me to do so mostly because his brother was home and his brother is a karate killer type person…like Seagal in Above the Law.
• The person behind me followed me all the way to my friend’s house but then instead of turning into the driveway he just kept driving.
• That’s the end of the story but here are some additional notes…
• I was listening to Barry Manilow as I was being followed.
• When Mandy came on I laughed.
• I will be arming my car with an RPG.

My car was just recently outfitted in the newest in haute couture (I totally just wikipedia-ed that business). I'm told it is the newest fashion and it's called a boot.
